This study evaluates the effectiveness of climate action plans in mitigating heat-related mortality and morbidity in South Asia, focusing on the case of Ahmedabad's Heat Action Plan. Despite ambitious national and local initiatives to adapt to climate threats, challenges remain, particularly for vulnerable populations in densely populated and infrastructurally diverse regions like India. The findings emphasize the need for tailored, region-specific strategies that consider socio-economic, environmental, and public health aspects to effectively reduce heat-related risks.
