This poster was presented at the 23rd International Congress of Biometeorology (ICB 2023) on May 14-17, 2023, in Tempe, Arizona, USA.

The study investigates the influence of tree canopy coverage on the Park Cool Island (PCI) effect within Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park in Singapore's tropical rainforest climate. Utilizing ENVI-met simulation software, the research examines three scenarios—Baseline, Concrete Jungle, and a 20% increase in tree cover—analyzing their impact on air temperature (Ta), mean radiant temperature (MRT), and physiological equivalent temperature (PET). Findings indicate that increased tree density significantly enhances thermal comfort by reducing Ta and MRT, particularly during peak heat conditions. This study underscores the importance of optimal tree coverage in urban park design to maximize environmental and thermal benefits in tropical climates.
